Climate Action Charter
The CANWM Climate Action Charter is a ten-point action plan which individuals and organisations can support, based on six key themes:
-
Energy Production and Consumption
-
Transport
-
Housing
-
Food
-
Employment
-
Education
We will be using these themes to publicise how more and more people are taking climate action at personal, local, national and international level.
Overall Aim:
To provide a habitable planet for our children, grandchildren and future generations, we must limit the increase in the global average temperature to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels, as agreed at the International Paris Climate Change Conference, 2015. To achieve this, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by at least 90% of 1990 levels by 2050.
